UpLoading to the internet archives like a pro

by Chris Yukna
First you login to the Internet Archives and give your password.
then you click on upload

  upload

The page will change and you should see Share your files
share
Now here is the tricky part DO NOT ENTER a title for your work
instead
click on files over 100 MB (even if your film is not that big)

Now you can enter a name for your video and remember NO SPACES
create item

Once you have done that you will see a page that only has this message
checking
but pretty soon you'll see a complete page with three different was to transfer large files
towards the bottom of the pageis my favorite:

method
Now I like using FileZilla from  portable apps for my USB key so I choose Using an FTP Client
So I open FileZilla and use the FTP Host name provided
in this case ia310836.us.archive.org  plus my login and my password
file
Then I hit quickconnect and then it is simply a matter of selecting the item or items that want to transfer rom my computer
on the left of the screen and dragging and droppring them
to the internet archive server on the right.
This is very similar to moving files with windows explorer.

Note: you are not finished! Close FileZilla and go to the Internet archive page and
click on the link provided
check link
now you will have several fields to fill in to identify your film

Summary, this is a quick relatively painless way to get your files up to the Internet archives to share with the world.
There are many variations that you can use. I just find this to be the easiest
